ART JOURNEY FROM THE BALTICS TO THE BLACK SEA

Paintings, icons, memorabilia, and books from the private collection of an Italian traveller through Russia and its neighboring countries are at the core of the exhibition "Art Journey from the Baltics to the Black Sea" at AlexArt International Art Gallery from December 2018 to the end of January 2019.

An incredibly expressive painting by multidisciplinary artist and designer Andrei Sharov (Moscow - Russia, 1966) transforms the classical motif of an angel into a burst of color.

The expressionist art of Dan Markovich (Tallin - Estonia, 1940) fares well with the mix-media of Shalva Matuashvili (Zinandali - Georgia, 1958).

A couple of colorful landscapes of Igor A. Krupenko (1967) and about Vilnius by Lithuanian Artist Birutė Jočiūnaitė-Cvirkienė give art-lovers a glimpse into exotic places.

The oil-on-canvas of Lev A. Kostev (Ryazan-Russia, 1959 ) invites to reflect on abstract symbols, while Alexandr E. Tumanov (Moscow - Russia,1949) presents the viewer with the lonely old man typical of the Russian province.

Completes the exhibition beautiful enamel cloisonné jewelries created by the Russian artist and designer Elena Chvanova, now living in Sarasota with her family.
